Five 5-Star Wins for Constantia Glen

The much-anticipated launch of the 46th edition of the Platter’s by Diners Club South African Wine Guide is finally here, launched yesterday at an event hosted at Sadie Family Wines in the Swartland.

The Platter’s Guide is still the most complete guide on South African wines. 11 tasters make up the Platter’s team that assess a potential 9000 wines each year. In the newly released 2026 edition of the guide, 27 Wines of the Year were awarded (these are the wines with the highest score in each category), as well as 259 Five-Star wines and brandies (95+ wines).

We’re thrilled to announce that the current vintages of our Constantia Glen wines have received fantastic results, with 3 out of our 4 wines receiving 5 stars.

The Constantia Glen Sauvignon Blanc 2024 received 5 stars and an outstanding score of 96 points, which is the highest rating our Sauvignon Blanc has received from Platter’s Guide to date. The Constantia Glen TWO 2023 scored 95 points, also achieving the coveted 5 stars, and the Constantia Glen THREE 2022 earned 94 points and 4 1/2 stars.

Of all our outstanding results, we are most proud that the Constantia Glen FIVE 2022 received an incredible 97 points and 5 stars and was announced as the Cape Bordeaux-style Red Blend of the Year, winning this highly contested category of South African wines.

To round off an exciting day of results, two of our Cellarmaster’s Van Wyk Family Wines also received 5 stars. Both the Syrah 2023 and Rebecca May 2024 were awarded 5 stars. This brings it to a total of five 5-star wines under Justin van Wyk’s belt in the 2026 Platter’s Guide.

Producing world-class wines takes teamwork and consistency, so congratulations to our entire winemaking team behind these exceptional wines!
